The Ahmanson Lab at the USC Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study seeks two students to help create an interactive timeline on the subject of robotics and artificial intelligence to be showcased at a USC Visions and Voices’ event, “Emotionally Intelligent Robots: More Human than Human?.”
 
This is a project-based position of roughly 40-60 total hours. Students will work under the direction of the event’s organizers. They will conduct independent research on the history of robotics and artificial intelligence from ancient to modern times; select key events for which they will write up 3-4 sentence descriptions and locate appropriate media (image or video); and add their events to an interactive timeline via Google Docs. The timeline will be built in Timeline JS; examples can be found on their website.
