Duties will include identifying and transcribing cards in the USC Digital Library. Using a Google Sheet, the research assistant will input metadata relating to ownership status, length of residence, rent, race or ethnicity from an initial set of cards. The position will also help to build an online research platform in Zooniverse, where transcription of the cards will be continued through a crowdsourced public history program.

This position will require about 6 to 10 hours per week during the summer semester with the possibility of longer hours in July. Some hours may also be available in the fall semester. The majority of tasks will be conducted online and so the research assistant should have access to a computer and a stable internet connection for the duration of the project.
