Note: We are currently accepting applications for SPRING 2024. Please include your work availability for the Spring semester. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

General library services. Special projects as assigned. General patron assistance. Basic reference assistance. Sorting and shelving books. Shelf-reading and shifting. Enforcing library policies. Data entry and usage statistics tracking, and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications include but are not limited to: Qualified candidates should be available and willing to work the following preferred hours: 10 hours minimum and up to 15 hours maximum per week (Daily shifts consist of a minimum of 2-3 hours).  Must be a current USC Student.  Candidates must be reliable, responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to work in a team or independently, have excellent communication skills, etc. Student assistants will adhere to USC health and safety protocols.   

Physical demands: frequent computer/keyboard/mouse use; occasional repetitive motion; occasional climbing on step-stool; ability to see/hear/speak, stand/sit/balance; ability to occasionally lift/push/pull up to approximately 15-20 lbs.; simple grasping with left, right, or both hands; fine manipulation and flexion/extension and pinching with left, right, or both hands; reach above shoulder; bend/twist, turn or tilt at the neck/waist.

Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as: preparing and transcribing information; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
