Note: We are currently accepting applications for SUMMER 2025. Summer Work Study is required. Please mention in your application if you have applied for Summer Work Study.  Please include your work availability for Summer.  

Duties include but are not limited to:

General library services. Special projects as assigned. General patron assistance. Basic reference assistance. Sorting and shelving books. Shelf-reading and shifting. Enforcing library policies. Data entry and usage statistics tracking, and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications include but are not limited to: Qualified candidates should be available and willing to work the following preferred hours: 12 hours minimum and up to 30 hours maximum per week during Summer. Daily work shifts consist of a minimum of 4 hours.  Must be a currently enrolled USC Student.  Candidates must be reliable, responsible, punctual, detail-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced environment, able to work in a team or independently, have excellent communication skills, etc. Student assistants will adhere to USC health and safety protocols.   

Physical demands: frequent computer/keyboard/mouse use; occasional repetitive motion; occasional climbing on step-stool; ability to see/hear/speak, stand/sit/balance; ability to occasionally lift/push/pull up to approximately 15-20 lbs.; simple grasping with left, right, or both hands; fine manipulation and flexion/extension and pinching with left, right, or both hands; reach above shoulder; bend/twist, turn or tilt at the neck/waist.

Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as: preparing and transcribing information; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
