Doheny Library is seeking punctual, responsible, and respectful USC Work-Study students.
1. Circulation Desk Student Assistant (solely circ desk).
2. Circulation Desk/Stacks Student Assistant (half circ desk & half stacks projects).
Circulation duties primarily include, but are not limited to, the following: carefully assisting all library patrons with loaning and returning library materials, providing customer-service-oriented assistance for access to library services, accurate general reference information, and materials, as well as meticulously shelving and sorting library items. Depending on assignment placement, students may assist with bookstack inventorying projects and stack maintenance tasks.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate experience with the qualities and duties listed in this posting. They must be reliable, active listeners, and effective communicators. The ideal candidate will have professional follow-through and be eager to learn. They must be open to receiving and providing feedback to their supervisor. Familiarity with the Library of Congress classification system is desirable. All eligible candidates must have work-study.

Candidates are expected to adhere to all USC health and safety protocols. Physical demands not limited to: Frequent computer/keyboard/mouse use; occasional repetitive motion; occasional climbing on step-stool; ability to see/hear/speak, stand/sit/balance; ability to occasionally lift/push/pull up to approximately 15-20 lbs.; simple grasping with left, right, or both hands; fine manipulation and flexion/extension and pinching with left, right, or both hands; reach above shoulder; bend/twist, turn or tilt at the neck/waist. Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and transcribing information, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
