The video archiving assistant is responsible for preserving the USC Digital Repository's customers' content with technical and professional excellence. Specifically, the video archiving assistant organizes and digitizes various visual and audial mediums and formats, examines all created files to ensure technical specifications and standards are satisfied, and assists with any other tasks or workflows to accomplish objectives within project deadlines. The video archiving assistant works in a highly technical environment: position works with various VTRs for different tape formats, encoding and transcoding softwares, video and audio editing softwares, and proprietary softwares, etc. and is expected to operate these hardwares and softwares with excellence.

Candidates for this position should meet the following qualifications: - Extreme attention to detail - Quick, self-starting, and flexible learner - Helpful team player - Highly responsible and takes ownership of all work Candidates should also have knowledge of and experience with various tape formats, video codecs, video standards. Ideal candidates should also have knowledge of and experience with video production and post-production and/or the following softwares: Adobe Creative Cloud (especially After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop), Avid, ProTools, and/or Maya. Knowledge of computers also a plus.
