Duties and Responsibilities:

Graduate students will work directly with rare and fragile library materials. 

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

-- Digitizing a variety of rare and fragile materials;

-- Entering and updating collection data into MS Excel and Google sheets;

-- Conducting online and library research on a variety of digital humanities topics;

-- Assisting project developers with other duties as needed.

Job Qualifications:

This position requires a commitment to attendance. Graduate Student Assistants must be reliable, arrive to work on time, and have the ability to accurately follow directions from supervisors.

Position requirements:

-- Must be a current USC Graduate Student with Federal Work-study (CWSP)

-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

-- A working knowledge of MS Word and Excel applications;

-- Proficiency in recording data into google sheets;

-- Adherence to high quality standards, and attention to detail;

-- The ability to handle rare and fragile materials with care;

-- An understanding of library work flow.

Preferred but not required:

-- Familiarity with archival material finding aids and how to create  them;

-- Experience working in (including internships) academic library special collections departments, archives, and/or museums.
